U-20 MNT: 2018 Concacaf Champions
I was asked to join the support staff of this year's U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team for their 2019 World Cup qualifying tourney - officially called the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship - which was held in Bradenton, Fla. in October-November. Of course I happily accepted.
Similar to the 2015 U20's I was with - where we advanced to the FIFA U20 World Cup quarterfinals in New Zealand - this group that Tab Ramos has assembled also has some serious talent, and they completed an unprecedented run to repeat as regional champs: winning all 8 games, scoring 46 goals, registering 6 shutouts and defeating Mexico, 2-0, in the final en route to qualifying for a fourth straight U20 World Cup.
Next up is the World Cup, which will be held in Poland in May 2019 (though I don’t think I’ll be on that trip).
