Cleveland Finally Has a Championship!

Cleveland Finally Has a Championship!

It had been 52 years since one of Cleveland teams in the 'big' leagues had won a championship, but that streak ended in 2016 when the Cavaliers staged an incredible comeback to defeat the Golden State Warriors to win the city's first NBA Championship. Down 3 games to 1, LeBron James and the gang won three straight in a rematch of last year's final (which Golden State won).

I had been traveling for the Copa America during much of the playoffs, but got back to Akron about an hour before Game 7 tipped off. I watched the game with my dad, and got choked up when the final whistle blew. It was incredible. I chatted with Matt and Bob down in Columbus, and a few days later me, Mike, and Gilchrist drove up to Cleveland for the parade. It was insane, estimated at over 1 million people, but so much fun. Afterwards, we hit the casino before closing out the day by watching the Tribe beat Tampa Bay.
